The efforts to stop illegal drugs have resulted in heightened police surveillance, patrols and raids on homes and organizations believed to be tied with drug use and dealing. Drug testing by private and government employers is one of the efforts companies are taking to prevent drug users from working for them. There have been many laws established around the globe dealing with the issue of illegal drugs. While these laws are designed to protect the interests of the people, they can be devastating for those who are caught and punished under those laws.
