Sarah and Jerry have been married for seven years. They wanted to have some fun and excitement before they decided to have children and so they deliberately developed an extremely dynamic social life.

The essential problem, it needs to be pointed out, is that practically everything they do for excitement has something to do with drinking.  For instance, all of the family get-togethers, parties with friends, sporting events, happy hours, and parties with friends they spend time at somehow include drinking.

Sarah and Jerry Begin to Take Note of Some Obvious Alcohol Related Problems That Come From Their Abusive Drinking

If they were sporadic drinkers, this wouldn’t be a major problem.  Due to the fact they drink in an abusive manner, nevertheless, they are starting to take note of some noticeable alcohol-related problems in their lives.

For instance, just four weeks ago Jerry was placed under arrest for a third DWI and has been ignoring responsibilities at work because of alcohol-related health issues.  In addition, Jerry’s last two or three performance evaluations at work have been less than admirable and he has begun to forget what he says or does the times that he drinks.  As a final point, Jerry has been going through sleep-related problems and his family is starting to exhibit apprehension about his drinking situation.

Similar to Jerry’s situation, Sarah has been feeling depressed about life and to come to grips with these feelings, she has been drinking more often than any time in the past ten months.  What is more, Sarah has been experiencing more than a few painful migraines and going through severe hangovers from drinking.  As a final point, Sarah has been feeling substantially less energetic when she awakens in the morning, she has been getting to work late every Monday, and she has been receiving some cruel criticism from her relatives, family members, coworkers, and friends about her hazardous drinking.

Watching the TV and Flipping the Channels and Discovering An Out-of-the-Ordinary Documentary About the Signs of Alcohol Dependency

One Wednesday evening while watching TV, Jerry and Sarah flipped through the channels and found a fascinating documentary about the signs of alcoholism.

This television documentary was a real source of revelation to Jerry and Sarah because quite a few of the alcoholism signs that were listed seemed like they were unswervingly related to numerous alcohol-related drinking problems Jerry and Sarah had been experiencing.

An Open Conversation About Drinking Activities Unearths Alcohol Related Legal, Relationship, Employment, Health, and Financial Problems

After watching the TV special, Jerry and Sarah decided to have a frank talk about their drinking behavior.  They both agreed that most, if not all, of their social pursuits somehow involved drinking, that they were drinking abusively, and that as a couple, they were beginning to make note of alcohol related financial, health, employment, legal, and relationship problems for the first time in their lives.

With thoughts of the television documentary still running through her mind, Sarah asked Jerry if some of the alcohol addiction signs they have been displaying could be an indication that they are alcohol dependent or possibly becoming alcoholic.  Jerry didn’t know the answer to Sarah’s inquiry and so he suggested that they make an appointment with one of the therapists at the nearby alcohol treatment clinic to find out more about the severity of their drinking circumstances.

Tackling Your Drinking Problems Just May Lessen Your Sense of Dread and Give You Some Tranquility

Paradoxically, even though their drinking circumstances hadn’t yet changed, it was evident that Jerry and Sarah were at least focusing on their drinking difficulties, they were ready to find out more about their drinking situation, and they were interested in discovering how they could notably cut back on or do away with the drinking-related issues that had begun to intensify.

When Sarah and Jerry went to bed that night, they made up their minds that the next morning, Jerry would call and make an appointment for both of them at the substance abuse treatment clinic located just South of the State Capital.  After they made a promise to one another that they would do whatever it takes to deal with the alcohol-related problems that had become apparent in their lives, they truly had the most refreshing night’s sleep they could recollect in the last five weeks.

Just before she fell asleep, Sarah turned to Jerry and stated how simple it is to lower one’s anxiety and in point of fact experience a sense of calm by handling one’s problems head-on and deciding to do something constructive about them.
